Kelly grew up in a very country-like setting in Ohio. She comes from a family of artists; her mother and her two brothers are talented artists. Her mother is the one that gave her the love of art and it has always been in the back of her mind somewhere hiding. Fast forward to 2018 and that’s when she decided to put that notion into motion! Kelly picked up a paintbrush for the very first time and began painting. Kelly is mostly a self-taught artist. With no real formal training, she decided to enroll in a local painting class and also enrolled in an online art school to hone her skills. She gets inspiration for her paintings by observing what’s around her in nature, her travels, people she’s met and people she admires. Kelly’s paintings can be described as polychromatic, using an array of colors and detail. Painting women is her favorite subject, but she is also known for the animals she paints (loves elephants!), landscapes, and flowers. She always had been attracted to bright, bold colors and you can view that in most of her paintings.
Kelly’s paintings have been on exhibit at R Gallery + Wine Bar (now known as Open Studios Gallery Downtown) in Boulder, Co. Also she has displayed at Don Woodard Art Gallery in Broomfield, Co.
Kelly has lived in Boulder County for over 30 years. She lives with her husband and her ornery rescue dog, Max and her princess, Penelope, a King Charles Cavalier. She loves hiking everyday with her dogs, curling up with a book, cooking and binging the latest shows with her husband.
